where are they wearing spandex?

I used to wear my spandex shorts when i go to beach vacations.I would wear them with a tank top walking around, to breakfast, sightseeing by the beach etc. My wife hates them but usually there are other men wearing spandex and she keeps quiet about them. I now seems that no one is wearing spandex except riding a bike. Are there any beach resort where I will find spandex being worn?
