Sorry to hear about your lycra troubles! Yeah...I have had the same problem in the past! It just seems that after a while...the fabric, and elastic breaks down. There are however, a few things you can do to prolong the life of your lycra items. First, make sure you wash them after each time you use them. (hand washing is best, and never put them in the dryer! let them air dry!) Only store them away after they are completely dry, other wise, they could form mildew! Finally...be very careful how you store them. Never place them in platic bags, or air tight storage containers for long periods of time. The reason, is because the rubber content in the elastic waistbands and leg bands lets of a chemical gas! If not allowed to escape into the air...this gas will cause rapid deterioration of the rubber, elastic, and the lycra itself! It will also cause a chain reaction with other lycea garments close by. (it'a alot like a rubber band when it gets old...how it dries up, and becomes brittle and breaks!) Make sure you store your lycra clohing in a manner, that allows the fabric to breath! ( make sure you throw away any lycra item that starts to have problems. You don't want it to start a chain reaction!) Hope this helps! Take care! Jason
