Hey, LikeNike, An interesting, thoughtful commentary! Thank you! I, for one, enjoyed reading your thoughts. I remember 1985--about the time I bought my first pair of tights, too. They were black, with stirrups--still my favorite style. Unfortunately, I don't remember the brand, though they might have been Nike's. I bought them at a FootLocker at the Park City Mall in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and the act of buying them made me so excited I almost couldn't breathe.
