You know, guys, now that I'm 52, my interest in tights and skin-tight shorts, etc, hasn't diminished all that much from when I bought my first pair of Dolphin tights in 1985! (Oh... a youthful 34, I think I was.) And for those of you old enough to remember 1985, tights were not ubiquitous, though they had started entering the mainstream in about 1984. When I touched those red tights at the Sporting Goods store, I almost passed out (no exageration). I worked up enough nerve to try them on, and actually purchase them. Even now, I can't believe my first pair of tights were bright red... I wore them under my pants, wore them around the apt, and finally showed them to my partner.. I actually kept them hidden for a while! I only wore them outside once, in the dead of morning, walking a dog! But these led to dozens of colorful tights... and I had a real fetish for Nike MuscleTights and then Nike AquaGear... I still have some AquaGear, that I can't really squeeze into anymore without calling 911 to extricate me!
I no longer wear the rather out-there(!) tights that I used to wear in the 80s and 90s(seems NIKE has decided I now only want navy blue or black, unlike the raging Muscle-Tights reds, pinks, yellows, from the good old days) - it is possible to lose one's nerve as the body fills out! But even as late as four years ago, when I took a trip to Europe, where did I end up, but in a big sporting goods store in Paris. I bought two pairs of bib shorts... one bright red/yellow highlights, based on Saeco design, and a blue/gray one. I've literally now worn the red pair out, doing this or that!!!!
But back to being in my 50s... where did the time go??? I still get startled if I'm in a mall or driving, and some vision in cycling or running tights goes by. And now that swimmers (at least at big meets on TV) often wear FastSkins, we have that to add to our cerebral databases. So, between winter Olympics, cycling, and Eco-challenges, TV is better than ever when it comes to lycra-leering.
But, you know, I also enjoy looking at heavy-set men in cycling tights... they don't have to be a young, even especially athletic. To me, it's often about the nerve of 'not giving a damn'... and what guy's butt doesn't look good in cycling shorts, as long as the shorts don't bunch or droop! If they drag, they look terrible. I don't want a dime to be able to pass slip between the fabric and the skin!
But even at the age of 51, I 'seduced' a married guy, of 26, when I was at a convention last summer, and we retreated to my hotel wherein I had him dress in one of my deep blue bib shorts. We had a marvellous, drunken, frottage session, all perfectly safe, and in its own way, 'innocent'. So, like the guy who just wrote the note about meeting the two cyclists in the Food Court... these things can happen. When they do happen, I get short of breath, still, but can usually squeak out a compliment. And you must do a personal risk-analysis, and be very sure of the signals. And like his experience, more guys seem to be seeking the compliment or prying eyes, than trying to avoid it.
Well, thought I make a contribution... I've had many wonderful, erotic encounters with lycra. Might just be a comment, or the way eyes meet on the SeaWall... or seeing a cyclist who doesn't see you, pulling up his tights, TIGHT, before peddling away. (This reminds me... one of the most erotic things I ever saw, a few years ago, in Stanley Park in Vancouver, was this cyclist who stopped at the top of a moderate hill, adjusted himself, pulled up his shorts, tighter, and then slipped off his leg warmers! I had thought he was trapped in tights under his shorts, but only those 'legs' that come off. Whiel I prefer the thought of full tights under skin-tight, padded cycling shorts, this was still very, very exciting. (Come to think of it, perhaps he was posing for me... I know I've done that for guys from a distance!)
