Hey, southeast Asian Guy ... (Our)balletbuddy is speaking from a more functional perspective, not as an exhibitionist. I'm the latter and as a result, usually wear nothing under my nylon lycra shorts, eg., except maybe a c ring because sometimes I love to flaunt it.
However, when modesty is called for, I might wear a G-string to semi-conceal my wares, a thong to cover yet still accentuate and show it off, or in sporting activities, a jockstrap. Haven't tried a dancebelt yet but they really seem to make the dancer look larger.
